Catoctin Breeze Vineyard Releases New Composer Series Wine

Catoctin Breeze Vineyard has officially announced their line-up of new wines for the June 2021 Cactoctin Cru release. Among them is the 2020 Waltz Albariño, the latest addition to their Composer Wine Series. Along with the introduction of this unique crisp white, comes a new wine label design featuring a whimsical illustration of Austrian composer, Johann Strauss Jr. (1825–1899).

Each wine label within this series showcases a famous composer, all of which were hand-drawn while listening to a notable composition by each respective artist. For the Waltz Albariño, Strauss Jr. was illustrated while listening to his Voices of Spring Waltz. And for that special pop of color on the label, we selected a fresh summer green to reflect the wine’s origins, the Albariño grape. This is the thirteenth wine label and illustration to join the Catoctin Breeze Vineyard Composer Wine Series.

Grown in the sandy soils of St. Mary’s County, this Albariño has notes of melon, sea salt, and stone fruit. On the palate you get very fresh flavors of granny smith apples and nectarine. 100% Albariño, medium acidity, and well balanced. Pairs very nicely with Old Bay seasoning.

Named after the land in which the vines are grown and the constant breeze that graces the site, Catoctin Breeze Vineyard was established in 2010 by the Fizyta family with the vision to handcraft terroir driven wines that exhibit a sense of place. Great wine starts in the vineyard. Catoctin Breeze Vineyard believes that in order to take an authentic and natural approach towards making great wines, they must start with growing quality fruit in a sustainable way. During the winemaking process, they gently guide the wine from barrel to bottle, allowing the wine to reflect its terroir.

International Awards Associate Announces the 2021 MUSE Award Winners

It’s been another incredible year of creative ingenuity for both the MUSE Creative Awards and the MUSE Design Awards. With more than 3,942 submissions from all over the world, Lisa Sirbaugh Creative (formerly Lisa Gorham Creative) has been awarded eight MUSES across both competitions. The MUSE Creative Awards honored Anxiety & Behavioral Health Center, Clickseed, Frederick Sign & Banner Co., Ol’ Charm, and Queue Aligners, in the category of Corporate Identity–Logo Design; Plantjoy in the category of Branding; and ACNB Corporation in the category of Publication–Annual Report Design. The MUSE Design Awards honored Queue Aligners in the category of Packaging Design.

The MUSE Awards is a series of international competitions hosted by the International Awards Associate (IAA), catering to professionals from various creative industries with the goal of promoting excellence in their respective fields. IAA ensures impartiality and strict assessment criteria by securing a jury of industry professionals who exhibit high standards of excellence and who have set new benchmarks in their fields.

The 2021 Grand Jury Panel
The esteemed panel consisted of 44 multidisciplinary professionals from 23 countries worldwide. These jurors, who represent leading creative companies, include: Director of DNgroup Aps, Frederick Rickmann; Head of User Experience of Huawei, Sebastiano Boni; Owner and Founder of UArchitects, Misak Terzibasiyan; Associate Creative Director of MullenLowe, Renato Barreto; Associate Creative Director/Creative Catalyst of FCB Chicago, Alice Crippa; Marketing Manager of Facebook, Min Lu; Chief Innovation Officer of ONU/UN WOMEN, Alejandro Calero; among many others.

Entries were judged according to industry-best standards and strict requirements set by the IAA. During blind judging, the grand jury panel evaluated submissions based on concept, creativity, quality, and effectiveness, selecting winners who best met all IAA criteria.

Lisa Sirbaugh Creative Honored at 2021 American Advertising Awards

This year marks the 31st anniversary of the American Advertising Federation-Greater Frederick (AAF-GF) American Advertising Awards and its first ever virtual gala, held Saturday, February 20, 2021. While we weren’t able to be together, thanks to this year’s Awards Chair, production team, and Zoom, we were still able to come together and celebrate creative excellence in advertising. The AAF-GF put on quite an entertaining 80’s themed show—Let’s Get Digital—filled with lots of laughter and good times. It was such a treat to see so many of our creative peers and honor their achievements.

I’m thrilled to share that Lisa Sirbaugh Creative (formerly Lisa Gorham Creative) was honored with a Silver ADDY Award for Queue™ Aligners in the category of Integrated Brand Identity Campaign, done for Toothman Orthodontics. Thank you to this year’s Awards judging panel for this tremendous recognition, it’s an honor to receive this award on behalf of such a great client. The American Advertising Federation’s American Advertising Awards is one of the industry’s largest creative competitions, attracting nearly 35,000 professional and student entries each year through local club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in advertising. The AAF-Greater Frederick’s American Advertising Awards is the first step in the three-tiered competition. Winning entries move on to compete at the Regional level—competing against New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington DC agencies, firms, and studios. Winning work from the second tier of the competition then move on to compete at the National level.
